5 Fall Date Ideas

Afternoon gents, it’s Max from the Young Gentleman’s Guide here! So with fall quickly approaching, I thought it would be fun to list off some fun date ideas for you and your special lady. I’ve done two lists like this for summer date ideas, but I’ve never done anything like this, and with the amount of activities that the fall season offers by itself, I thought this would be worth an entire list on its own. Any of these are bound to get the two of you in that fall/Halloween snuggly mood, so without further delay, let’s get started!

1. A pumpkin patch

This is a quintessential fall/Halloween activity that can be loads of fun for anybody to partake in, especially for a young dating couple. Depending on which patch you decide to go to, it can be a very romantic setting for the two of you. Also, depending on where the patch is located, there can even be more activities that the patch can offer, like hayrides, corn mazes, or picture areas for families and couples. Plus, after picking out pumpkins with your special lady, that can turn it into another date that involves you carving said pumpkins and maybe even putting on a movie for the two of you! So if you’re looking for a classic fall/Halloween activity that will be a perfect romantic setting for you and your special lady, going to a pumpkin patch may be exactly what you’re looking for!

2. Farmer’s market

Part of the reason fall is so integral to nature’s calendar, at least here in the northern hemisphere, is that it’s largely considered the harvest season. Some of the crops that take the longest to grow are usually ready to be harvested come the fall season, so as a result, farmers will usually have much bigger offerings at farmer’s markets, especially here in the United States. Not only that, but different farmer’s markets have different offerings depending on where the market is being held. There was a farmer’s market I frequented while I was living in San Francisco that had a vendor that offered homemade apple ciders, as well as a vendor that sold home-roasted coffee beans. Do some research to see where farmer’s markets are being held as well as what they offer there. Not only will it be a quaint, romantic setting for you and your date, but you may be surprised by what you find. Plus, if nothing else, you may just be able to find some fresh fruits and veggies that you might need for your pantry.

3. Camping trip

The fall season usually symbolizes the beginning of falling temperatures all throughout the northern hemisphere. This makes it the perfect time to take a camping trip with your special girl. It’s not so hot so that spending too much time outside would be unbearable, but it’s also not so cold that you’ll risk freezing to death. Getting to spend nights out in the wilderness and out under the stars will absolutely be a romantic setting for the both of you which can come with a multitude of other activities. You can go on hikes, you can go birdwatching, you can go fishing (provided you bring the right equipment), or you can look out for constellations after the sun goes down. Outings like this might also give both of you the chance to cook some delicious outdoor meals for each other. If you’re into cooking in a Dutch oven like I am, this would be a great opportunity for that. On top of all of this, it may also give the two you more opportunities to snuggle up with each other so that you both can stay warm. With a romantic setting that offers an plethora of activities for both involved, a camping trip may the perfect thing for you and your girl.

4. Haunted house/location or ghost tour

Given that the coming of fall is synonymous with the coming of Halloween, at least in the United States and Canada, it’s no surprise that people will want to flock to attractions that specialize in spooks and scares. Of course, nowhere is that better experienced than a haunted house! Now haunted houses can come in a lot of different forms, but the main purpose of them is still the same: to give people the spooks and thrills that they so often seek around Halloween! Of course, there’s the typical carnival haunted house that is just a model of a spooky house façade with some creeps and scares on the interior. In some areas, you might be able to find a house that is believed to be literally haunted. It could simply be an abandoned house with a local urban legend of being haunted, some could turn these urban legends into full-fledged attractions, or there could even be an entire haunted building or facility in your area. It’s important to do some research about possible haunted houses/areas near you before venturing out. On top of all of this, there may be entire cities that may be famous for being haunted, such as New Orleans. Cities like these may offer entire ghost tours that could absolutely be worth partaking in. If you’re planning on traveling to any major cities on the U.S. or Canada, it may be worth looking up if there are ghost tours of the city offered there.

5. Escape room

Escape rooms have exploded in popularity in the last few years, and for good reason. They put people’s puzzle solving, observational skills, and and critical reasoning to the test. It can create a tense situation for everyone involved, and it can even be a great teambuilding exercise for you and your girl. While escape rooms can be scary enough on their own with their sense of building tension and thoughts of being trapped in a room, you can even get into the spirit of Halloween and do a specifically horror-themed escape room. There are entire escape room facilities all over the world, so I’m sure you’ll be able to find something fun, tense, puzzling, and scary for you and your girl to partake in.

So there it is! These are just five date ideas that you and that special lady to keep in mind for the upcoming fall season. Even if you don’t celebrate Halloween, whether it’s for religious reasons or you just don’t celebrate Halloween where you live, some of these dates can really help in getting you and your girl in that nice fall mood. If there are any other fall-themed date ideas that you thought I missed, please be sure to mention them in the comments. In any case, I hope you enjoyed reading today’s article.
